Margaret Mary Brewster

Margaret Mary Brewster, our beloved aunt, died on June 11, 2023 at the age of 101. She was born in Owen Sound on Boxing Day, 1921.
Margaret, known affectionately to her family as Dee Dee, had many passions including her dogs, photography, music and sports. She was also active in St. George’s Church throughout her life. Margaret lived in Leith and swam into her late 80’s. She was always the first one in the water.
Margaret loved spoiling her many nieces and nephews and generations beyond. She hosted great family parties in Leith and she always had homemade meringues on hand to sneak to the kids.
Margaret also served the community for many years as an employee of Grey Bruce Public Health.
She is predeceased by her parents Dr. Francis A. Brewster and Gladys Maitland, and siblings John, Betty, Maitland and Frances. Dee Dee is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and she will be truly missed.
A funeral will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Owen Sound, on June 21. Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m. The service will be live-streamed via the church website. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Margaret’s memory, to the Friends of Leith Church or St. George’s Anglican Church.
