Marion passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Friday, January 20, 2023. Born on October 30, 1916 in Bruce Township, Marion Lougheed (née McKenzie) of Owen Sound, was in her 107th year.
Dearly loved wife of the late Harold Lougheed (1989). Loving mother of Dwayne Lougheed of Aurora and Kyle Lougheed (Cindy), of Chatsworth and mother-in-law of Kay Lougheed of Toronto, Lois Lougheed and Alvin Stewart both of Owen Sound and Steve Donnelly of Barrie. Proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren and several great and great-grandchildren. Marion will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Duncan and Sephrona McKenzie, her children, Durwin, Brian and Bevan Lougheed, Lorna Donnelly and Elaine Stewart, her daughter-in-law, Eileen Lougheed, her granddaughter, Andrea in 2022 and her 8 siblings, Jean Ribey, D.J. McKenzie, Allan McKenzie, Catherine Nelson, Donald McKenzie, Edith McGillivray, Irene Davidson and Bert McKenzie and their spouses.
A Visitation for Marion Lougheed will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Sunday, February 5 from 1:30 until 4:00, and from 7:00 until 9:00. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Blaine Lougheed officiating. The service will be livestreamed from the funeral home. Interment in Eastnor Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Bluewater Regional Cancer Society, the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, the Chapman House Hospice, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce or the Georgian Shores United Church would be appreciated.
