Peg passed away peacefully at Lee Manor on Monday,May 30, 2022.
Born on December 18, 1922 in Owen Sound, Mary Margaret “Peg” Stirling of Owen Sound, was in her 100th year. Peg was the last surviving member of her family. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Gretchen, Barbara, Bert, Kim, Al, Daisy and Jim and their families.
Predeceased by her parents John and Daisy Wakeford, her daughter, Linda Stirling and her siblings, George Wakeford (Dorothy), Audrey Smith (Tom), Al Wakeford and Beth Milne (Mel), her nephews, Tom and Frank.
Peg loved puzzles, bingo, figure skating (in her youth) and dancing (to the very end). She even won a contest for doing the Charleston with her brother George. She also enjoyed soap operas especially the Young and the Restless. Peg was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
A memorial service will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519 376 7492 on Thursday, June 16th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
