Peacefully, at Coleman Care Centre in Barrie, Saturday May 7, 2022,
Nelson Keith Rodman of Markdale in his 95th year.
Predeceased by his wife Jean and sons Jack, Bruce and an infant son.
Dear father of Patricia MacKinnon and her husband Leslie, of Montague P.E.I. and Rick and his wife Theresa, of Minesing. Remembered by sister-in-law Marie Mower. Proud grandpa to thirteen grandchildren, including Jack (Eileen)’s children (Rick, Cara and Gene), Pat (Leslie)’s children (Rob, Chris, Stephen and Mike), Bruce (Dana)’s children (Tristan and Rachelle) and Rick (Theresa)’s children (Mark, Kate, Grace and Sarah). Great grandpa to sixteen great grandchildren including Curtis, Lily, Justin, Zak, Vanessa, Alicia, Austin, Andrew, Faith, Chloe, Brianna, Josh, Janaye, Vannah, Gabrial and Alena. Predeceased by brother Bill, sisters-in-law Christina Rodman, Iva Mae Irwin, Margaret Freeman, Dorothy Funnell, Belle Buchanan, Shirley Irwin, brothers-in-law Ted Funnell, Charlie Buchanan, Maurice Irwin, Harold Irwin, Alvin Mower, Everett Freeman.
Keith grew up in Euphrasia Township and married Jean Irwin at age 20. With two young kids in tow, they moved to Toronto in 1954 where Keith began a long, physically demanding career in the furniture moving business. After moving to Berkeley in 1970, “Gramps” worked for John Thompson Movers until retirement. Keith and Jean moved to Markdale in 1990 where Keith looked after Jean through her cancer battles. His wife passed away in 2005, after 56 years of marriage. In his last years, Keith enjoyed trips to the coffee shop exchanging stories with old friends.
