Broadbent, Philip – born Southport, UK, and formerly of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Summit Place in Owen Sound on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Philip Benjamin Scott Broadbent at the age of 92 years. Devoted husband of Trudy (nee Earle) for over 66 years. Dear father of Sharon Doucette, of Brampton, and Derek (Lisa), of Oliver, BC. Cherished grandfather of Jonathan Doucette (Celia), Emily Doucette (Alex), Alexander Doucette, James Doucette, Madison Broadbent, and Keegan Broadbent. Sadly missed by his nephew, Alan (Andrea), & niece, Sandra (Gordon).
Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Marion; son, Kevin (2020); brother, Wilfred (Ruby); and by Trudy’s siblings, Fred, George, June, Jean, Mabel, Harry, Edna, Charlie & Ethel.
Philip was a proud member of the British Merchant Navy.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Summit Place who treated Philip like a cherished member of their family.
Visitation and a Celebration of Life Service will be held for Philip on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to view the service via Zoom at 2PM by selecting the ‘Attend Zoom Meeting’ on Philip’s page on the funeral home website. Interment in Zion Cemetery, Hepworth.
