Reta passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound, on Wednesday April 13, 2022. Born on March 19, 1937 in Elderslie Township, Reta Lillian Parkes (née Martin) of Owen Sound, was in her 86th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Alan Parkes and the late Dalton Keeling Jr. Loving mother of Kevin Keeling and his wife, Lynn, of Tobermory and mother-in-law of Lynne Keeling, of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Jaffe (Whitney), Tyler and Noelle and great-grandmother of Cullen. Dear stepmother of Graham Parker (Dale) and Anna Parkes and step-grandmother of Michelle, Jeffrey, Jacqueline and Kima. Dear sister of Orville Martin (Dorothy), of Hanover, Verna McFadden, of Arthur and sister-in-law of Millie Locking (Bev Morrison), of Owen Sound and Lynda Hammond (Harold), of Kitchener. Reta will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Mernie Martin, her daughter, Pam Keeling (1961), her son Marty Keeling (2015), her siblings, Mernie Ann Martin (infant) and Doreen Calkins, her parents-in-law, Dalton Sr. and Merle Keeling, her in-laws, Ross McFadden, Bill Keeling (Bonnie) and her stepmother-in-law, Rae Parkes. A Memorial Service for Reta will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519) 376-7492 on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Heather McCarrel officiating. Visitation from 12:00 noon until time of service. As per the family’s wishes, masks are required to attend the visitation and service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chapman House Hospice or the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce would be appreciated.
