The family of Ronald Ross Robbins sadly announces that he passed away at the Owen Sound Hospital on Saturday, February 20, 2021; peacefully surrounded by his wife Donna, and their four children.
Ron was born in Owen Sound on September 20, 1945 to parents Ross Robbins and June Robbins (nee McNabb). He was employed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communication of Ontario for 35 years. He also worked for Henderson and Paddon in Owen Sound prior to his retirement in 2008.
Ron is survived by his wife and best friend Donna Lillian Elizabeth Barnard, sons William “Bill” (Elizabeth), David (Colleen), Michael (Shelley) and daughter Melanie Mostacci (Carl), seven grandchildren: Justin, Mackenzie, Mark, Megan, Dawn, Alexandra and Christian, siblings Don, Tom (Cathy), Linda Cashubec (Garry), Brenda Haanstra (Robert) and Jim (Lyn), and brother-in-law Bill Barnard (Gayle). He is predeceased by his parents and sister-in-law (Helen Robbins). Ron will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Ron is remembered for his jovial and friendly spirit. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and many loyal canine companions. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards.
A visitation for Ron will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8, (519) 376-7492 on Wednesday, February 24th from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, if you wish to attend visitation please RSVP by visiting Ron’s page on the funeral home website, or by phoning.
A private funeral service will be held on February 25th from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Chad Gordon officiating. Family and friends are welcome to watch the service at 11:00 a.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca).
