Cherished grandmother to Lisa Burns, Patricia McEwen, Daniel McEwen, Bryan Parks Jr., Melissa Miller, and was predeceased by Ryan Parks. Great grandmother to Connor Keeting, Bradley Boynton, Mahala McEwen, Damon Burns, Cole Hindle, Jacoby Burns, Adrienne Cosby, Brodi Robinson, Alex McEwen, Hayden Brown and Carter Miller. She was the much loved sister of Audrey, Brad (Diane) and the late Doris. Ruth will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many more relatives and friends.
Ruth’s life legacy is her strong sense of family. Being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at family dinners, celebrations and holiday gatherings were by far her greatest joy in life. Ruth persevered through many challenges in life with her strength, determination and love. Her family will continue to share her memories and her legacies of what has been witnessed throughout her incredible journey. The stories throughout the community of the ‘days of when Ruth used to drive my school bus’ were often the beginning of many great stories shared. Her passion for hardware continued throughout her life, whether it was on the farm taking care of animals, to the apple orchard, or making memories with her grandchildren. Ruth embraced her love for fitness at curves, where she won many awards for all her goals and achievements.
Ruth leaves behind many taught life lessons that will be cherished for generations to come. Ruth will be missed profoundly.
The family would like to express gratitude to Errinrung Nursing Home for the exceptional staff for taking care of Ruth.
Ruth wished for her family to gather together privately to celebrate her life. A private graveside service will be conducted at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery, where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband, Mansell Hughbert Parks.
