She was the loving wife of Gerald Leroy Thiel for 54 years.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Revada (Dignan) Dignan, infant sister Marilyn Adele Dignan, in-laws Stewart and Alice (Lawson) Thiel and brother-in-law Ronald George Thiel.

Diane was loved by many Dignan and Thiel-Taylor nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Dignan cousins and Thiel-Lawson cousins will miss Diane! Diane really appreciated her neighbours and friends. Diane was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church while living in Zurich. After living in Penticton, B.C., Diane and Gerry bought the Thiel family dairy farm. Diane was a full partner-farmer and willingly helped with the Hay Township Sesquicentennial in 1996 and Plowing Matches in both Huron and Grey Counties. Also, she had a sewing business and worked in the Stokes store in Owen Sound. As well Diane enjoyed photography.
Our many thanks are sent out to Dr. Jog and Nurse “Heather” in University Hospital, London. Also Dr. Johnson and Dr. Dafe and all the nurses in Owen Sound Hospital were very good to Diane.

Poem by Margaret Mead:
“Creator saw you tired and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away
And although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A Golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest-
Creator broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best!”
