Shirley passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the age of 85.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband William ‘Bill’ Thomas Keily. Mother of Shawn Keily (Jennifer) and Darren Keily (Robin) and proud grandma of Cameron Keily (Courtney McKnight) & Nicholas Keily. Predeceased by her son Brad Keily and her brother Sherman Seeley.
Shirley attended nursing school in Toronto and worked for many years at SickKids. Shirley, Bill and their family moved to Meaford in 1967, where they opened a plumbing business. Bill was the local plumber and Shirley ran the store front. They enjoyed camping with family and friends over the years. The family moved to Port Hope in 1980. After Bill’s passing Shirley then moved to Brampton and worked at Kmart for almost 20 years. Shirley was an avid hockey fan, and enjoyed watching the games on television or at the local arenas. Upon her retirement, she moved to Owen Sound to be closer to her mother Marjorie Seeley, who was very important to her.
Cremation has taken place; a private family service of interment will take place in Rexdale at a later date where Shirley will be interred with her late husband Bill.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Chapman House would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
