Of Kitchener, after a short battle with cancer at Grand River Hospital on Friday, September 30, 2022. Treena Louise Deakins (nee Fries) at the age of 47 years.
Loving wife and best friend of Chris for over 30 years. Devoted mother of Alexander Deakins (partner Billy Nguyen), and Brandon Deakins. Cherished grandmother of Dean Cromwell-Deakins. Dear daughter of Tim and Ruth Anne Fries, of Wiarton; and daughter-in-law of Karen and Roger Vezina. Much loved sister of Jim Fries (partner Ashley), of Hepworth. Sadly missed by her nieces, Chloe and Olina; nephew, Dalton; and cousins.
Predeceased by her father-in-law, Ted Deakins (2018).
Treena worked at Manulife for 17 years, moving from dental claims, to adjudication, and finishing in a BA position last November. She loved being outside and being active. She was a skilled clogger and gave of herself as a figure skating coach.
Family wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the Grand River Hospital for the care given to Treena.
