Peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, November 19th, 2020.
Verna Mary Simpson (nee Graff) of Balmy Beach, at the age of 95 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Lloyd Simpson and the late Jerome Kunkel.
Loving mother of Gail McKibbon (Ron), Bill Simpson (Sandy) both of Owen Sound, Kathleen Simpson (deceased 2020), Lynn Leighton (Bob) of Elmira, Donna Whiteman (2015) (Wayne) (both deceased), Carol Rankin (Ray) of Wellesley, Barbara Maluske (Doug), Carey Simpson (Anne), Betty Simpson all of Owen Sound, Kirby Simpson of West Bank, B.C. Michael Simpson (Debbie) of Brampton, Jerry Simpson (deceased 2018) (Debbie), Susan Mosher (Hank) of Bonfield, Debbie Aiken (Murray) of Allenford, Jacqui Perry (Jim deceased) of West Bank, B.C. Lori Morton (Dale) of Hepworth, Peter Simpson (Belinda) of Owen Sound, Rob Simpson of Park Head, Sandra Shipley (Joe) of Wiarton and Jim Simpson (Elizabeth) of Windsor.
Cherished grandmother of 59 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Verna will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Ada Graff; her siblings, Helen Shupe (Ken), Raymond Graff (Zora), Irene Bester (Andy) and Beatrice Wells (George).
A Private Mass of Christian Burial for Verna Simpson will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 with Father Wojciech Kuzma officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Owen Sound. Friends are welcome to view the service at 11:00 via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca).
Due to COVID19 restrictions, all attendees must wear a mask and follow social distancing procedures.
