Vi passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Wednesday evening, August 31, 2022.
Born on May 7, 1932 in Owen Sound, Violet Ida Roberts (nee McMillan), of Owen Sound, was in her 91st year.
Dearly loved wife and best friend for 70 years of the late John Roberts (March 1, 2022). Loving mother of Kathie Luckhardt (Sam), of Owen Sound, Dave Roberts (Debbie), of Fergus, Barb Arthur (Vic), Paul Roberts (Sue), Mavis Beckett (John), all of Owen Sound, Janice Ludlow (Greg), of Barrie, Mike Roberts (Laurie), of Owen Sound and the late Susan McDonald (2017) (Larry of Shallow Lake). Proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Evelyn Sprung (late Laverne), Mavis Bryans (late Howard), Elaine Bumstead (late Robin), Elgin McMillan (Eleanor), Cliff McMillan and sister-in-law of Laverne McMillan, Donna McMillan and Chuck Slemin. Vi will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents William and Rena McMillan, her siblings, Eileen Johnston (Delbert), Wilburn McMillan (Dorothy), Laverne McMillan (Dorothy) and Archie McMillan, her daughter-in-law, Donna Roberts, her parents-in-law, David and Johanna Roberts, her in-laws, Mary Slemin and David Roberts (Barbara).
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Violet Roberts will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 – 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Wojciech Kuzma officiating. Interment in St. Mary`s Cemetery, Owen Sound.
