Walter Urbanowicz

Walter Urbanowicz passed peacefully at Markdale hospital on Monday, December 30, 2024 of Flesherton in his 87th year.
Loving father of Andrew Urbanowicz (Loretta Thornhill) of Dartmouth, NS, and Andrea (Adam) Wood of Vancouver, BC. Cherished grandfather of Toby and Noah Wood and Zachary Thornhill and uncle to Helen Niezgoda. Much loved partner of Donna Hurst of Flesherton.
Predeceased by his parents and beloved sister Elizabeth and nephew George Niezgoda. He will be fondly missed by the Hurst family.
Born September 21, 1937 in Vilnius, Poland, the family was pushed to Siberia before moving to Kenya. Walter’s start to life was rough, between losing his father and being pushed from their homeland, but he had the love of his amazing mother and sister.
While being raised in Kenya was an incredible experience, the family got an opportunity to move to Canada when Walter was about 18, with the support of his uncle Walter. He was a well accomplished Industrial Electrician and hobby farmer. He enjoyed watching his children grow and later his grandsons. The last 23 years, Donna’s companionship brought him great joy.
