Peacefully at Sumit Place Long Term Care in Owen Sound, on Monday, October 21, 2024. Born on Sunday, September 27, 1942, Wayne Anthony Hillyer of Owen Sound, was in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Virginia Hillyer (nee Wall). Proud father of Donna Foubert (Dave), Rob Hillyer, and Lori Grange (John). Loving grandfather of Cheryl Melnyk (Mike), Amber Patricio (Logan), and John Grange. Cherished great-grandfather of Amelia Patricio. Dear brother of Gloria Mackie. Wayne will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents William and Lucinda Hillyer, and by his siblings Bill, Grace, Jean, Ruth, Johnny, Shirley, Betty, Patti, Joan and Ken.
Wayne’s family wished to thank the staff at Summit Place Long Term Care for their compassionate care given to Wayne.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s and the Missions Catholic Church, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, following a reception at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
