After a long and brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, Wayne P. E. Mang of Oakville, Ontario, passed away peacefully in his 85th year. Wayne is now reunited with his loving wife of 40 years, Alice, and eldest daughter Leanne Blades. Predeceased by his parents Paul Emil and Katherine Mang (nee Brodt), and his siblings Irma Gibson, Lillian Rumpel, Elmer Mang (Bea Ferris), and Clarence Mang (Gladys Ruecker).
Wayne will be dearly missed by his loving daughter Alli Mang (James Oatway) of Oakville, beloved grandchildren Trevor Blades, Hanna Lacaille (Kevin), great-grandchildren Sophie Leanne and Margot Charlie Lacaille, and his cherished partner of 22 years (and fiancée) Carol Mair of Massie, Ontario.
Wayne’s legacy of love, vision, and passion will be remembered by his daughter, grandchildren, his niece Lisa McKinney and Richard Mang, extended family, friends and business colleagues. Wayne began his career as a Chartered Accountant in Calgary, Alberta with Clarkson Gordon & Co. progressing quickly within the steel industry for over 35 years, serving also as Chairman of the Board for the Steel Service Center Institute, retiring after a 20 year tenure as President and CEO of Russel Metals Inc.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre, Oakville, on Wednesday January 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm, Reverend Paul Ivany presiding. A second service will be held at the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home chapel on Friday January 21, at 2:00 pm, Pastor Michael Henkel presiding. All attending the funeral service must observe Covid-19 protocols.
