Alan passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Born on March 12, 1933 in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, William Alan Gordon, of Allenford, was in his 90th year.
Dearly loved husband and best friend of Frances Gordon (née Bailey) for 68 years. Loving father of Nancy Spencer (late Dave), of Chesley, Louise Sweiger (Terry), of Dobbinton, Ruth Anne Broadhurst, of Orangeville and Jamie Gordon (Barb), of Allenford. Proud grandfather of Cory Spencer, Tyson & Tyler Sweiger, Cody Broadhurst, Alan, Nathan & Jackson Gordon and great-grandfather of Cash & Camile Spencer, Leah, Wren and Claire Sweiger. Dear brother of Dorothy Forsyth, of Owen Sound and brother-in-law of Kay Thomson, of Tara. Alan will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Earle and Ruth Gordon, his sisters, Madeline Black and Maxine Story, his in-laws, Don Black, Roger Story, Willard Forsyth, Jack Thomson, his grandson, Bradley Spencer.
Some of Alan’s accomplishments were that he was the Former Registrar of the Bruce County Court House in Walkerton, Credited Residential Appraiser from the Appraisal Institute of Canada and he was inducted into the Bruce-Grey Music Hall of Fame.
A Visitation for Alan Gordon will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. The service will be livestreamed from the funeral home. Spring interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.
