William Albert Alonzo "Ab" Beattie

Passed away peacefully at Lee Manor on Friday, October 4, 2024. Born in Owen Sound on June 17, 1937, William Albert Alonzo Beattie of Owen Sound, was in his 88th year.
Beloved husband of Maxine Beattie (nee Howey). Loving father of Stephen Beattie (Cathy), Donna Barfoot (Wayne), David Beattie (Lorie) and Dwayne Beattie (Nicole). Cherished grandpa of Cory Barfoot (Michelle), Jodi Nagel (Christian), Chris Barfoot (Courtney), Jessica Barfoot (Marty), Carrmin Beattie (Kristian), Tyler Beattie (Dusa), Jackson Beattie, Jenna Beattie, Logan, Kaden and Madigan and great grandpa of Payton, Mason, Olivia, Brynlee, Emerson, Addi, Annaliese, Bentley, Austin and Jakob. Albert will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, as well as the entire Howey family.
Predeceased by his parents Alonzo and Jessie Lindsay Beattie (nee Cruickshank), siblings infant brother Tracey, Leonard Beattie (Ola) and Donelda Hewitson (Laverne), and by his grandson Josh Beattie.
Albert enjoyed watching baseball and hockey, camping trips with his family and farming.
Albert’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lizette Van Zyl, Dr. Cornelius Van Zyl, Dr. Charles Dafe, Dr. Fred Veenstra and the staff at Lee Manor, for all the outstanding care Dad was provided.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Keith Sweeting officiating, followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in McLean’s Cemetery, Bognor.
