Wilma Marion (nee Murray) Carefoot passed away peacefully in her own home with her daughters by her side on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in her 96th year.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert ‘Ab’ Carefoot in 1985.
Wilma is survived by her loving daughters; Frances ‘Fran’ Smart (Ian), Louise Clock (Larry), Alberta Tippin (Garry), Marion Turner and Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Sewell (Bob).
She was the much loved grandmother of Angela Larsen (Jamie), Derek Smart (Whitney), Brent Smart (Kasandra), Darren Clock, Ashley Clock, Jennifer Tippin (Brett), Jessica Hurst (Jason), Melissa Woods (Chad), Melanie Sawyer (Ryan), Tennile Carbert (Bradey), Caitlyn Hewgill (Blake) and Abby Sewell (Chad Nicol). She was the loving and proud Great Grandmother ‘GG’ to 19.
Wilma is survived by her sisters-in-law Joyce Murray and Marie Clock and by many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her siblings Thompson Murray (Viola), Viola Caswell (Ray), Edythe Wiley (Ross), Ruby Brown (Elwood), George Murray (Mary) and Roy Murray, and by her in-laws Harold, Frank, Ernest, Les, Ivan and Carmen Carefoot, Gordon Carefoot (Isabel) and Florence Kerr (George).
Wilma and Albert farmed for many years on the third line of St. Vincent Township. Wilma was a loyal member of the Orange Lodge (L.O.B.A.) and the Crystal Chapter for 75 years. She was a proud member of the ‘Third Line Women’s Institute’ and taught 4-H to many young girls for several years. She was a very proud member of Christ Church Anglican. Wilma’s motto was “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Family will receive friends for a public visitation at Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 4 until 7 p.m. We ask that masks be worn and that all Covid-19 rules and regulations are respected to keep everybody safe. A private family service will be conducted at Christ Church Anglican followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
