Owen Sound police have arrested two men after fuel was stolen from a local gas station.
Police say just before 10 Tuesday night (Sept 10th) two men in a black van with stolen plates pulled into a gas station on 16th Street East, Owen Sound.
According to police, the men refilled the vehicle's gas tank as well as a fuel container, the entire time attempting to hide their identity.
Police say they then immediately left without paying for the gas.
Officers also discovered the vehicle had been involved in similar occurrences in neighbouring municipalities.
At about 2 Wednesday morning, an Owen Sound Officer spotted the van in a parking lot on the west side of the city.
They say a lone man who was found asleep in the vehicle was arrested without incident.
The 25 year old Owen Sound man was charged with a number of criminal offences including theft and failing to comply with two probation orders.
Police say he was searched upon his arrest and found to have drugs in his possession.
He had a bail hearing this morning.
Meanwhile, the investigation led to the arrest of the second man who police say they located at a residence on the west side of the city.
That 22 year old man now faces theft charges as well as possession of stolen property.
