Waiting Game Begins for Lamont Sports Park

Saugeen Shores | by John Divinski

The winner of the competition takes home $250,000 for its declared project.

Thousands of votes were cast at the Plex for and it's unknown how many thousands of other votes may have been cast in homes on behalf of Lamont Sports Park.

It's all part of the Kraft Heinz Project Play contest and the winner will be declared tomorrow evening at 6 on TSN's Sports Centre telecast.

The winner of the competition takes home $250,000 for its declared project.

The other three communities will take home $25,000 each.

The local Project Play committee likes its chances because of community spirit the area has shown over the past week with public signage and media coverage.

Committee members would also like to thank the neighbouring communities that cast their votes as well, along with hundreds well beyond our borders.

So now it's the waiting game until the winner is declared tomorrow night at 6 on TSN.

The proposed Lamont Sports Park will feature amenities for all ages in addition to sports fields, with discussions underway for new accessible trails and an accessible playground.
